Pure Lab Grown Diamond For Sale
Lab Grown diamonds- busting common myths
Diamonds are a symbol of wealth, power and prestige. Right from ancient times, diamonds have been known to be a part of royal jewellery and were a very valued commodity. However, with the progress in science and technology, no longer do we need to procure diamonds the traditional way. Diamonds mined from the earth are done so after heavily polluting the environment through pollution at the mines. We now have lab created diamonds- they are not artificial as they are technically, physically and chemically 100% genuine diamonds.
Myth no.1 They are rare
Diamonds are plentiful in the earth’s crust. They cannot be considered rare. In fact, most of the world’s diamond production is controlled by Multi National Companies like De Beers and Alrosa. They carefully co-ordinate the amount of diamonds they sell in a year, in order to keep their dominance over the supply of mined diamonds.
Myth no.2 There are no choices to mined diamonds
This is complete Bull***t. Labs created synthetic diamonds are available in plenty. They do not consist of the imperfections or insertions that regular diamonds have. Within synthetic diamonds there are many options for customers to choose from- depending on quality and quantity needed.
Myth no.3 Diamonds cost a bomb
It’s true that diamond studded jewellery is highly priced, especially in large showrooms and other reputed jewelers. However, the best lab created diamonds are much cheaper than their mined counterparts. Moreover, many otherwise rare coloured diamonds are now being manufactured in controlled environments in the lab.
Myth converted to a fact- The De beers company
Before the 1900s diamonds were not at all popular- only the elite royals and aristocrats used to wear them. During the same time, the British had discovered huge diamond mines in South Africa and wanted to monopolize the market to gain the most from it. It was true that the custom of exchanging rings during engagement was prevalent across the western world, but diamonds on the rings were not. By the 1930s all of Europe was embroiled in a war, but the US was relatively peaceful. The British, through the DeBeers company decided to target the US to sell their diamonds and hired ad agency N.W. Ayer in 1938 for the same.
N.W.Ayer did a massive market research and found out that no one was particularly interested in diamonds in the US. So, they started a carefully designed media campaign where they published articles in newspapers stating how to buy diamonds and how to choose the right diamonds for your soul mate. Traditional radio, print and TV ads were also used. Before World War II only 10% of the engagement rings contained diamonds, by 1941 there was a 55% increase in USA diamond sales. N.W.Ayer is credited with handling the most successful marketing campaign ever, by popularizing the diamond ring as the best engagement ring ever.
